Donations to the scholarship fund can be made by check payable to ‘St. John’s University/SRM’ with a notation for (JSIA/Calascione Fund). Checks should be mailed to: Attention: Melodee Harper Fields, School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science, 101 Astor Place, Room 259, Manhattan Campus, New York, NY 10003-7132. Donations to the fund are recognized as charitable contributions within the University’s status as a 501 (C) (3) organization which can also facilitate matching contributions from supporting firms.

The Board of Governors' goal is to fund a scholarship in perpetuity for students in the School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science at St. John’s University in memory of former President Steve Calascione. We are proud to give back to build the future leaders of the insurance industry, many of which are connected to the John Street Club today.

Steve passed away unexpectedly in 2010 while serving an unprecedented second term as President, which was characterized by his friendly and enthusiastic leadership that did so much to reinvigorate the John Street Club with new initiatives and new members. He was an Executive Vice President and Managing Director of JLT Re North America in New York and previous to that role was a senior officer of QBE Insurance. Among Steve’s many good works, he particularly valued his membership with others in the insurance industry in The Friendly Sons of St Patrick.
